Electric vs Gasoline

Currently, there is a revolution in the development of cars. There is a lot of focus on the use of electric cars instead of gasoline cars. This is due to the added benefits to the environment that these electric cars have. So I am going to overview the difference between the 2 kinds.

Gasoline cars run either by a cylinder or rotary motor. Cylinder motors are more traditional but there still are rotary motors in some vehicles, mainly from Mazda. A cylinder motor runs with pistons that help create a combustion inside the engine. There is fuel injected into each chamber and then it is sparked while oxygen is added to create a larger explosion. Then the combustion pushes the piston causing motion. There are multiple types of these engines. There are 3-cylinder, 4-cylinder, 6-cylinder, 8-cylinder, 10-cylinder, 12-cylinder, and 16-cylinder. The most common tend to be 4, 6, 8, and 12. The more cylinders does not mean more power necessarily, but it can normally handle more stress and strain of the speed. There are also two different form factors of these engines. There are V-shaped engines and inline engines. The V-shaped is self-explanatory because the cylinders are in the form of a V. The inline shape is also pretty simple. It is a straight line of cylinders.

A rotary engine is a little more complex. It is in the shape of a triangle and it runs like a gear system. There are three rotor and four rotor engines. It funcitons by letting the rotors spin inside the triangle creating a lot of mechanical advantage enabling the car to move forward. These engines are also known to be cool because they give off a loud whin that is very unique. One of the most famous cars that comes with this type of engine is the Mazda RX-7.

Electric cars are more simple and complex at the same time. They run more like any other electronic device. They have a large battery that gives the whole car power. You also charge these vehicles instead of filling them up. This causes some issues because you will not have as much range readily available. They take time to charge like anything else and only have under 400 miles of range while in a normal vehicle you can fill up your tank in a matter of minutes with around 350 miles each full tank. Electric vehicles might be made mandatory in the near future because they are a lot better for the environment in theory. This is controversial because the production of the cars is known to be a little bit more harmful than the production of a normal vehicle because of the batteries negative nature. These cars are also silent which can be a negative or a positive depending on who you ask.

In the end, my opinion is I like gasoline cars more because of the amount of versatility and I love the sound of cars. I want a loud car that makes everyone look so electric cars are not my scene but I do see the value in them.
